What do u think of Toda? I want to do all motor. I also want the best set up and i hear alot of good things about toda. Ok to tell u the truth i want the best set up for an all motor so i can beat my friends "ls v-tec turbo" cause he's getting big headed and i want to shut him down for good. Tell me whats the best set up i should to do my b16? I was thinking of a stroker kit? Thanks.:)

here are the 3 things i would do not in any order K
you can do the TODA stroker kit go to ModAcar (http://www.modacar.com)
or Jun makes a good Stroker kit
both companys also make just flat out good parts to so you could just upgrade every thing far as intrnals with out stroking it out
now my fave choice.... and being that you have a B16a allready
i would get a B20 (crv) block and have it iorn sleved and all that good stuf and slap on the B16a head.
you could run from Type Rs all day wiht that setup hehehe
every one i know with one is pushing like 225 250 hp at the ground easy no tuning realy eather ... Now you tune it and add some other little things and easy you can have a 300hp all motor killing machine
wana get even crazyer turbo a CrVtec and you got 400+hp from what i have seen and heard
them would be my choices ............

Turbo nope, b20 nope. I do like the stroker kits. I just checked out that site and its not a bad price. 2400 is a good deal. Thanks :)

Dude, dont mod your car to shut down your friend, then he will probably just talk shit all the time. I raced my friend in his GS-R with my dads 98 Silverado 4X2 Truck, and hella beat him, but hes like "Yo, but you got twice as many cylindaz" even thogh before the race he was looking up all these specs on the truck and talking about how it didnt have a chance, and then it walked on him.
Truck is stock
Performance upgrades on the GS-R
Greddy Evolution Exhaust (full cat-back)
Aem CAI
DC Sports 4-2-1 Stainless Header
Type R intake manifold
Magnecor Spark Plug Wires
Upgraded Spark plugs (not sure)
Short Shift Kit
And a bunch of other shit I cant think of but i think thats about it.

LOL. Well we are always competing against each other and we are known for that. Before any further mods on my car i want to prove them that i can break 14.7 STOCK ! This is what my friend has...
Act Stage 3 clutch ( i'm not sure if they call it stage 3 for ACT)
Apex v-tec controller
dropped
I/H/E
Skunk 2 cam gears
And he ran 15.1???? He can do better than that i'm sure of it. His excuse was that he kept on spinning the wheels even when he dumps at 1.5 grand? Well either way i still wanna do all that Toda shit to my car cause i hear some good stuff about them. If money is the issue then i'm gonna settle for Skunk 2's stuff.:)

He can run better than 15.1 for sure, that car is capable of it. Also the VTEC controller is worthless, I was talking to a guy that has a 97 GSR with one.

V-tec controller is worthless? No i disagree with u. U have to tune it rite for it to run better. Trust me i have 4 friends that have them and they did feel the difference.:)

Maybe it isnt so worthless then, the guy with the 97 can be a dumbass sometimes, and most of the work on it he doesent do himself

You've got quite a competition going on there...beating an lsvtec with a b16 is pretty difficult let alone an lsvtec with a turbo. You may need additional help there other than a stroker and a fully built motor...consider a supercharger or nitrous...I would have said turbo but thats just copying his set up and thats against the basic rules of competition among friends...NO COPYCATER.
* An LS-turbo alone can do 11 sec...try beating that with your B16.:sun:

LOL. No you got it wrong man. My friend has a b16 with turbo which he got it from a Saab. No nitrous , no supercharger. ALL MOTOR and i know i have to do alot with it just to beat my friend but as i was told he just slapped the turbo in there with no internal mods.

First of all, i dont understand why you want to beat him with an NA and he has turbo, they are both same make and power source, whats the point. But I'll humor you.
It is very much possible for an NA b16 to beat a turbo b16, but to rationally accomplish this, youll need the old strategy of displacement and maticulous tuning to squeeze every last ounce of torque you can get to the redline.
The 2.0L bottom end on the B series head is definitely a good idea. Honda puts a sort of restriction on themselves to strive for a greatness, and when you increase the displacement on these motors, youre unleashing a monster.
Now lets go high compression. I'm unsure what options you have for an efficient compression on the CRV bottom, but I have seen 90+ mm stroker kits for the B series motors, which will near you to 2.0L, and options on the B series pistons may aswell be endless.
Fuel additives would be a good idea too, since hes running turbo. Its only reasonable to run nitrous since im sure this is going to be a daily driver. (if you do this, scratch the high comp option, unless you want a one-time shatter-fast ride)
But my main recomendation to you is to lighten your chassis. Pro league dragsters are destroying 10s with NA high octane gas (no methanol) B18s and the like. These motors are producing a respectible 250+ hp. Traction and weight makes a bigger difference than people realize. If you can tear out some things in the car (i realize daily driver, but same stands) and run a good set of tires (my personal fav is the Pirelli P7000, but run what you like) and land solid 60 ft times, youll roast him.
You should also realize that turbo engines are more practical than NA engines for power. This does not mean that hondas are not practical for racing, just that their power is better utilized under boost just as any other engine. The wonderful thing (IMO) about honda engines is their efficiency, reliability, and torque stability all the way to redline. A relatively small turbo that spools at an enjoyable 3500rpms, and boosts to redline (8000) gives you am amazing power window. This is usually enough boost to make serious power in vtec range aswell. If your goal is fast, then you want as big of a boom in the cylinder as possible. Either turbo charge it, or run nitrous. W/o either of those, youll have to get real gritty on the motor and chassis to beat him. And if he continues to mod his turbo lsvtec, hes gonna roast you every time.
Well, thats my 2 cents, GL.

I would have to disagree with you on this statement. First of all, Tuning and fuel management are a big issue here. Also 100 Octane Unleaded fuel will not detonate like 91... You also have to use a wet setup and some FORGED aloy pistons... NOT casted, they wont hold. You will need after market rods and a tunable ECU. You would need an aftermarket timing/ignition system... But that comment is like saying its gonna blow if I use nitrous on a JDM ITR motor... I know of one been running nitrouse for almost 100,000 miles nos'd since the drop in. So realy, its all about tuning there.

Did i not mention forged pistons? I gotta apoligize for that. Its late here, (2am) and im a little abscent minded.
Nitrous has a lower flash point than gasoline, that is what i was refering to when i mentioned that the compression be adjusted when running nitrous.
Running wet over dry will definitely help with this, something else i forgot to mention.
So your right, nitrous could be run on a high compression setup, but its gotta be considered when your tuning it, and the compression cannot be AS high, im nearly positive. I could be wrong and am always open to better my knowledge.
That outta do it. Thanks for the heads up seth.

C32Bperformance recomended litening your chasis, i reccomend litening your rotational mass, lite wheels, flywheel and such as (this is just a rule of thumb and the science is a lot more complicated than this) every pound of rotational mass you loose is equivalent to 8 of static mass(chasis). In science the amount is more in lower gears and less in higher gears but that takes a long time to explain. anywho, liten up the load man, ever tried to catch a midget, they lack top end but man they get movin quick.

Damn you all bought up this old ass thread! :D Anyways i've changed my set up. I've done alot of research and the best way for me to go is goin skunk 2 stage 2 cams along with the whole head package. I'm tryin to find a gsr or a type r bare block so i can do that poor mans type r. I might go 13:1 cr but not sure yet. Of course i'm gonna upgrade my fuel and all that good stuff. Hopefully all of this will be done before summer time! :)
