1995 325I convertible Top

Hello guys, my top stopped opening in the middle with half open half closed. I used the emergency lever below rear seat to close it. The lid is not closed propelrly and have to press it from one side in order to open the trunk. What could be the reason for the top to stop working. I haven't got it check yet.

hello , either the tension in the soft top bow has been lost or one of the micro switches is faulty. on some models water finds it's way into the control unit which sits in the rear left behind the speaker trim panel. What you can do is this , place the lid all the way open then open the boot and re couple the motors then climb in the vehicle. before you switch on the ignition push the roof switch to the closed position and hold it there, then switch on the ignition while still holding the switch. it might take a few seconds but then the roof will come out and follow the full operation once it has completed the full operation you can let the button go. this is an initialisation process for the motors.:banghead:
