Hey guys, I finally realized i need some rightous sound in my car so im getting my deck n crap put in in a couple of hours! :) Im excited, i got a nice JVC deck and speakers it should be nice. Thats gay, you need an extra wire for installation for the cavaliers, the guy said gm likes to do that. Its just one extra wire adaptor needed, another 14.99, that angered me but whatever. Anyways ill take pics when i get it in today! :grinyes:

I think MTX had something fucken huge for a sub. I think the only one ever sold was on pimp my ride though. The extra wire for the cavaliers comes from the steering colum. Take about 1 foot of wire.

4x6 and 6x9 stock but they make plates to put 4 inch and 6.5 inch in the front doors. I got 6.5's in the front doors, 5x7's in the rear doors and 6x9's in the rear deck

You need a monster system in your cavy man it makes hella noise...i got a jvc 200w deck with pg 65s in the front and pg6x9s powered by rockford power series 301x in the back the massage comes from 2 12'' alpine type r 2005 edition (500\1500) powered by 2 rockford power series 501bd mono amps (650w max each) sucked too much power so i got a cap for the monos and a juicy alternator...too much plastic parts in the car though i had an 89 with a similar system sounded great i have a 99 now and i have alot of work to do to contain the plastic rattle, all i do now is pump up the volume and away goes the rattle

try turning your subs down. I have two 10 inch apline's and if I crank them then yea shit rattles but if you turn them to a decent level were you actually have all around music and not just bass then stuff doesn't rattle

not trying to be rude but why didnt you do it yourself? i mean it's easy to do, all the diagrams in the world, come off cheaper AND you know YOU were the one pimping up your car man. you never know what those car install people will try to steal and if they screw something up and there is ANY way he can hide it, he will. i'm not knocking it if it's free but im just saying.

umm.. ohhkay. so let me get this straight, you have never EVER screwed anybody's stuff up? like your just the ultimate installation fairy??? everybody makes mistakes for 1. two, most installer places have people doing stuff that may actually look and be the age of a person who you wouldnt think would do something stupid, but yeah.. they do. 3. do you look behind your workers backs all day??? NO. so what the hell do you know they do? 4. it's not like i was attacking you personally, but then i guess i was since you seem to be on your rag today and i ALSo guess that your business sucks and your not doing so good because obviously if you were doing good then you would just laugh at this post instead of act like i just shit in your cheerios. dont you get it your lame man. go get a real job anyways. (you might actually make enough to OWN one of those systems you install)hehehe i cant wait to see how he flips his panties at this post :P

Ok that was dumb. Anyways I got them installed in a few days ago, they are awesome. Has anyone noticed that the whole speaker face isnt exposed, the metal on the body isnt drilled out big enough to show the whole face and that is taking away potential sound ownage :( Anyways it was fun to do, followed CRJ's instructions [thnx] and it works great.
One question, do you NEED a "GM window crank removal tool" to take the window crank off of your door? Or is there anything else homemade that could work? I want to do my door speakers now as they sound like crap. Thanks guys.

You can, but the removal tool is cheap and makes life a TON easier.

Ok, where could I get the removal tool from then?
J/w is the window crank on the 96 cav have the c-clip on them? If worst comes to worst what would be the best thing to get it off without the removal tool, 2 thin objects taking it from both sides? Thnx
