I just bought 2000 Sienna and I would like to replace the audio system. How do I remove the audio system? Has anyone replaced the factory audio system with a new one? Any tips or gotchas I should be aware? Please help. Thanks.

Get a Haynes or similar manual. I removed mine when I was taking my dash apart to look for a wiring problem. You will have to remove several parts of the dash and the manual will tell you how to remove it without breaking dash parts. The wiring harness looked straight forward, so you shouldn't have much of a problem.

I did this on my 1998 Sienna. The dash cobering that surrounds your audio system and heat and air controls pops out. It is a little hard the first time you do it, but once you do it the first time you realize it's not so hard. I used a couple flat head screw drivers. Something thinner and strong may be better to get in the seam and pop this off.
This is attachedby four snaps. They are located along the sides. 2 on each side at the bottom and top of each side.
Once this is off the rest should be easily done with a socket set.

For Ozzie and Masai both,
I strongly recommend adding a trim tool to your toolbox. Most autoparts stores carry them for about $5. They won't scratch stuff up as bad and they have a v shapped end that squeezes the quick connecters together so that they don't break when you pry them off.
