Fog light question

My fog lights have been out for a while..probably a dumb question (but I haven't even examined them for cause of problem)..but is there a bulb for these? If not, would the fog lights be toast after just 4 years..or is it probably a wire or connection problem?. I did check the fuse under the hood and it was OK.

One of the connectors on mine melted within a year. It appeared to be seated/sealed properly, but being mounted vertially it got water and dirt/salt in there and eventually shorted out. You remove the lamp holders from behind. Unclip the metal bails and the holders pop out.

I was able to take the bulb assembly out. There are wires connected directly to the bulb, so the bulb itself, I don't think can just be replaced. I unplugged from the Rodeo and now I'm holding an 8 inch piece with connection to Rodeo on one end and the bulb connected to a white wire on the other end. Can this be bought somewhere?..or do they expect you to buy another set of fog lights?

hi,
just replaced my fog light bulb with some help from this board... great
bunch of folks!
The bulb itself can be replaced. I have thrown away the package but
i believe it was an H3 bulb 5o watt? Oh i have a 98 rodeo... dont'
if they (fog lamps) differ from year to year.
good luck

That's an H3 bulb (as msikdm pointed out). The base of the bulb should be held in with some sort of spring clamp. Disconnect the spade connection, unclip the bulb and put a new one in. It will only go in one way since the base has one round indentation and one squarish one.
Also remember DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULB WITH YOUR FINGERS.:2cents:
