Hi everyone,
I was just looking around the forum and couldn't help but notice that a lot of people are having the problem I was having.
My car would always stall when it was really cold outside. I would start it and would have to sit in it and hold the gas pedal down to get the RPM up.
Well turns out I had a leak in the intake manifold gasket. What I did to find the problem was to have someone sit in the car and press the gas pedal. Then I went around the engine with carb cleaner and sprayed everywhere around the intake manifold where it met with the gasket. If you have a leak the car will want to stall when you spray where the problem is. I replaced both upper and lower intake gaskets since I had it all apart. Both gaskets cost around $100 Canadian.
It's been over two years now and the problem hasn't happened since. I live in Canada and I've been in -40C weather and the car runs like a charm.
Hope this helps.
