On my 90 civic hatch the driver side door molding is coming off a liitle on the right side. I guess there is a plastic screw that holds it down on the right side, i looked and it is broken off. I want to take the whole thing off and try and put it back on so its completely on. My question is how does it come off, does it pop off or do u have to take off the door panel from the inside??? -thanks

Are you talking about the rubber strips on the outside of the door about half-way up the door body? If so, they're held on by plastic clips that are almost impossible to remove without breaking. There's also one bolt that holds it on at the rear edge of the door, with a nut on the inside of the door next to the vinyl panel. Also, the rubber strips have a metal bracket on them, and if bent will crease, so be careful. I've heard that replacement clips are really expensive too.

i think u have to go in from the inside tho to get it off and that would be a pain just for a stupid door molding. The plastic bolt is broken off and that is the side that is falling off. maybe i can insert a screw or something to hold it down until a find a new one for cheap or something.
To post pictures do u have to have a web site or can u just upload them to ur post?? Cuz i want to post a picture of my new ride.

There's 3 ways to post pics.
1. upload them to a website (there's several free website hosting sites around the internet, some are specifically for images).
2. Attach the file to your post. When you post a reply, at the bottom, one option is to attach a file. If you click on this, it'll bring up a dialog box where you can select the image from your hard-drive, however, the image must be less than 100K in size, and must be a .jpg file format.
3. This seems to be the most reliable method (for me anyways), go to www.automotiveforums.com/upload Then, click on "browse" and find the image on your hard drive. Pictures here must also be less than 100K and .jpg file format only. Once you click on upload, it will bring up another page with the address for the image. I copy this address, and then insert it into my post adding the image tags on either end...

That's it.
hope that helps.

You have to get at them from the inside. On the fender you can pop off the fender guard thing to get at it, on the door you can take off the door panels, I guess on the back you would need to take out all that shit back there, seems like a lot of work.

This is the picture the dealer sent me when i asked for him to send a pic. The only difference is i put 14" HX rims on it. (couldnt get a hold of a digital camera yet)

FYI, I just had my car painted and they took the side moldings off to be repainted black...the clips cannot be reused because they break when you take em off. Clips for the doors 10 clips each side ( i think) cost $50 (per door). Front and rear panel molding clips cannot be bought separately...you must buy a new molding. Cost $30 per side...Running total for new front and rear moldings w/clips and 2 sets of door clips (old moldings) $220.00 My solution (what I did) used all 6 pc (old) moldings and had em screwed down..., 2 on each side. Worst case scenario if it looks bad...just buy a new set of clips and moldings later on.

ok, so if i buy a new molding does it come with clips or are those separate?? the molding that is falling off only has that broken nut on the end. if i could somehow get it to stay down it would be fine. I took the plastic nut and clip screw off of my totaled 97 HX. U think that would work to replace it??? or should i just buy a new one???
Also my brakes squeak alot, i looked at the pads and they look brand new. Is there anything to do for this or do the 4th gens squeak. -Thanks

Yes new moldings come with clips, but you can buy the clips separately (just for the doors).
