Hey, my brother's got a 1992 Pontiac Grand AM SE with the 2.3 L Quad OHC. Hasn't been run for about 4 years until just recently, put coolant in and drove for about 90 miles, temperature was down oil was checked and needed to be changed but said that hell with it... after about 90 miles car started to smell like burnt oil really bad almost immediately and just about to pull off the road and it shuts off completely... Popped the hood smoke from the right side of the block, no leakes, and no excesive ammount of heat, tried to start back up after about 20-30 minutes and turned over but it was like there was just no spark, smelt fuel but wouldn't start. Any ideas? Thanks.

Welcome to AF!!
Unfortunately, you probably cooked the engine. Should have changed the oil before driving the car. 4 year old oil doesn't work too well.

Acutally I believe that we either busted the timing chain or the cam shaft... all the pullies and shit move on the left side where the alternator is but on the right side of the block by the power steering, the pullies don't move, so plan to take off engine mount on left side and cover for the timing chain to see if that's busted, then other option is to check cam shaft. But I don't know, if the engine is fried oh well, prolly just junk the car then.
