Hatch Squeaks, Kind of a Bitch.....Suggestions?

Hey, my hatch squeaks like a mo' and I cant figure out why. I used electrical tape before to fix most of the rattling, but I knew where this was coming from. I can't find the squeaking because its only around when I'm driving like 15-40 mph. Anyone have any ideas? Should I just wash my car in WD-40? I got plenty of it to go around. Any and all advice is apreciated, as usual. :frog:

My passenger door used to squeak really bad, and everyone that rode in the car would say it was coming from a different area of the door (some said it was the top seatbelt mount, some said it was towards the lower front of the door). Anyways, I found out that it was the vinyl of the door panel rubbing on the metal frame of the door towards the b-pillar. What I did was fold up a piece of paper a few times and wedged it between the panel and the door as a temporary fix. Since I removed my panels before taking the car in for pain/body kit, I'm going to put somekind of permanent fix on.

Also, on your hatch, as well as the doors, there are several rubber stoppers that can be adjusted by twisting them. Unscrew them a little and see if that helps...

I already have the rubber stoppers out like most of the way on the doors and the hatch, it stopped some rattling, but no squeaking. Could it be the hydraulics for the hatch? Thanx for the reply, keep them coming, I'm trying to get all my little problems fixed in my car, and post-whoring at the same time (WIN WIN) :frog:

When I replaced my window I noticed under the door panel is a piece of plastic with caulk or something around it, that keeps water from getting to the door panel I guess, but it may also keep the contact of the panel and the metal from touching and squeeking also.

Im pretty sure the latch can be adjusted on both the hatch, and the body.

Just peel back the plastic around it, there are two 12mm bolts on the body side of the latch. Lossen them off, and lower it a few mm.
Then close the hatch and go for a drive. see if it makes any differnce.
It might pay to wind in the stoppers first, then you can use these to make small adjustments.

Also as the rubber seal gets old it goes hard, and squekes, use some silicone spray or rubber conditioner on it. Or better yet replace it.

My whole rear hatch squeeks like mofo, its kinda like a symphony in my trunk, i should record it and send it to a record company and make millions and go on tour. :silly2: I've traced it to be the rear shelf and that panel under the rear glass. So my solution to get rid of it.....play your music reaallly loud so it cancels out the squeeky squeeky.
