My wife and I recently purchased a '91 6000. It appeared to have been well cared for and has run great until today. My wife left the house and less than a mile from home, the car stopped accelerating. The engine is fine, but it's like it's in neutral, regardless of what gear the shifter is in. When the shift lever is in park, the car cannot be pushed. When it is in drive -- the car can be pushed (while running), but will not accelerate on its own.
What suggestions do you guys have to offer? Any help is VERY appreciated!!
Thanks,
David

I forgot to mention, the car has 91,000 miles and the v6.
Thanks again,
David

I should have problem *also* mentioned that the fluid is clean, doesn't smell burned, and is also at the proper level. TIA!

After reading about some other problems online, I went back to the car and tried unplugging the TCC connector. This did not allow it to shift. Any ideas?

If it is full of fluid, something let go in the trans. Call the tow truck.
