4x4 High?

My 97 Ram w/318, I'm putting a tranny in it now ne way but when it was working I didn't have 4 wheel high only 4 low the lights would come on but no 4 high, then I pull the leaver on into 4 low and you could actually feel the truck engaging, I've checked all the vacume lines and sensors everything seems to be in place dosn't mean it's working but everythig is where it needs to be ne way ne thoughts would be help full.

Sometimes you will need to roll a little before it engages. It is designed so that you don't feel it engage in high. Put it in high while driving then make slow very sharp turn to feel if it jumps at all to be sure it is working. I don't know much about the inner workings of the transfer case, but I believe the vacuum engagement is the same one for low and high, but I may be wrong. My truck, I cannot feel it go into 4high even at 55mph, it engages so smooth.
