hello, I have a 2000 LS 2.2 and the tranny is slipping at around 45 mph. the problem is intermedite and i think its an eletrical problem in the tranny. it feels like a loss of power but the rpms go way up. if i get on the gas hard the check ENG and trac light come on. has anybody eles had this problem ?? please help

It is a automatic transmission with over drive

well.. i think i have the same problem, but my rpms doesnt go up and my chek engine light doesnt come on (but then i have a 95 2.3l) but it could be te same exact problem. is it auto or standard and if it auto then does it have overdrive? if it's a manual i have no idea, but if it's an automatic then it could be the tcc solenoid (or torque converter control valve) if your tranny doenst have overdrive then try unplugging this solenoid (you can see it from under the hood, it will be on the closest side to you and to the right on the tranny) if it does have overdrive then DONT unplug it. it will burn up your tranny. you would have to get it fixed which calls for opening the tranny which if it were me would be me saying - hey man, wanna buy a car? lol

To me that doesn't really sound like an electrical problem. It actually just sounds like it is slipping, the bands could be worn if it is auto, or clutch if manual. The reason this would cause the Check Engine and Traction lights to come on would be because the PCM would be recieving different speed signals from different sensors.

check the fluid. check the lines as well, could be a pinced or collapsed line
