Hi,
I am new here, and a fan of all skylines. In august i will be in Tokyo for 5 days and would like to know if it would be easy to find some skylines to takes some pics of. Where is the best place around tokyo to actually see some of these machines?
Thanks!

Go to the Daikoku futo parking area below the yokoham bay bridge on either Friday or saturday night. Friday is better. You'll see shops like Top Secret, w/ ten of the demo cars and dozens of their customers, for example. Since the weather is warm, there should be plenty of people there(hundreds of cars) around midnight.

Sounds like this place will have some great cars. I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the tip!

I am in Japan for a couple of years and I don't know what to ask for when buying the right car. I am used to a car without turbo's and what not. So please some help on what I need to buy the right car. All I know is that I want a Skyline but there are so many different types out there. Should I get a four wheel drive? Do you see my problem? I would be grateful for any help.

How much are you looking to spend? The amount you want to spend and what you are looking for out of the car will determine which you should get. I’m sure as you know there are close to 12 different models of Skylines, most of them are completely different than the other.

Well I want something unique I am looking for a twin turbo GTR-4. There was one recently one like that here where I live for 6 thousand but the interior took a beating. Its was a R32. So something the same but I am willing to pay more.

Well, if you want something unique in Japan, you don't want a Skyline. As far as the car you said you want, there is no GTR-4. The GTRs and the GTS4 are the four/all wheel drive models, the others are RWD. If you want a turbo model, here's your list of Skylines most likely in your price range:

R32 Models:
GTS-t (RB20DET engine)
GTS-t Type M (RB20DET, has nissan written in the brakes)
GTS4 (RB20DET, has partial four wheel drive like the GTR)
GTR (RB26DETT)

R33 Models:
GTS25t (RB25DET)
GTR (RB26DETT)

The reason I say you don't want a Skyline if you want something unique, is because they are all over the place (in Japan). But, regardless, if you're like me, you'll want one anyways. Japan is full of people doing mods to set them apart from the rest. Swap engines, body swap/mods, etc. That's why I installed the 2dr rear taillights and bumper on mine (mainly because the 4dr rear end looks like crap). I've seen a drifter that installed an R33 front end on his R32, another one that got a non-turbo Skyline in installed the SR20DET, etc. That's how you get a unique Skyline in Japan. Unless you can afford the truely unique (and expensive) ones, the R33 500R, R32 Autech, R33 Autech GTR, etc.
