02 gp fuel filter

hey all, gonna do a tune up on my 02, gp gt, got almost 45k figured it be a good idea. but while at wally world i seen the fram fuel filters while i gettin an air filter. do the fuel filters require those speacial clips to remove them? one end looked like it screwed but the other end looked like a funky clip. didnt wanna grab one for 10 bucks and not be able to get it off. any insight would be helpful. figured I go to Oriellys for plugs and wires. was gonna tell em i wanted pretty much wanted stock stuff, unless its better to go a different route, any ideas lemme know, thanks guys and gals

No. You push in on the two plastic pawls and then pull. No special tool is required. Just make sure you bleed off fuel pressure before removing filter. You can remove the fuel pump fuse in the engine compartment fuse box while engine is running and it will die or relieve pressure at the Schrader valve on the fuel injector rail. Also. remove battery negative cable after that when working with the fuel system.

On the spark plugs and wires use the OEM AC Delco. 41-101 Iridium plugs and AC Delco Premium Silicone 7mm wires.

The stock AC Delco are 7mm but if you want 8mm thats not a problem. MSD and Taylor works fine but be careful with aftermarket wires like Autolite and Bosch.

I use MSD 8.5mm on my GTP.

The newer wire material is much better than it used to be. Back in the day, GM ignition systems required 8mm wire, but not anymore. Today's OEM 7mm wires conduct better than the 8mm of days gone by. The MSD and Taylor wires look nice, and perform well but are overkill (and a waste of money) for a non-modded car.

I agree if the car is stock. But MSD ignition wires will outperform the AC Delco 7mm wires. They have less resistance per 1 foot. And yes wires such as Taylor and MSD they do look nice.

Plus it is hard to beat the cost on Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm wires. Cheaper than AC Delco.

If that's the case on the Taylors, you can't beat the combo of costs less/performs better.
