Would there be any problems to replace the stock 195 thermostat with a 160 thermostat? Wandering if I'm gonna have to reprogram the computer for the new thermostat temp.? Thanks!

It's not really worth it to put in a 160 deg. thermostat it's not going to give you any added horsepower. If you have to replace the thermo. because it's bad or something you could put in the 160, but otherwise it isn't really worth it.

I wouldn't recommend replacing your thermostat with a 160* one unless you plan on having your computer tuned to the new settings. This being because the computer reaches closed loop at 175*. Well, with a 160* thermostat, the computer will be ina constant open loop operation.. which basically means you're going to be flowing coolant through your block the entire time you drive your car. Having a 160* stat can also cause your car to run a little on the rich side. This is due to the O2 sensors, which won't function until the exhaust temperature is at least 660 degrees F. And with you're engine running colder than usual, it is possible that the O2 sensors might not kick in to operation, which in turn may tell the computer that the engine is running too lean, resulting in excess fuel being dumped into the engine... which would then cause you to run rich.

You're best bet and my sugesstion would be, if you're really wanting to change out you're thermostat, then you should go with a 180* thermostat. That way you're engine will still operate at normal temperatures while not causing any bad side effects.
