When I start the car the service light blinks for about 5 seconds. I usually do all my car work myself, currently the car works fine.
I am not sure what I have to do now, can anyone please help.
Thank you in advance,

Did you change you oil recently? The ECU needs to be reset it will trip after what 4-5k I think to let ya kno your due. You have to put your key in turn forward half way and hold the trip for 10-15 sec it will clear the light. If this is in fact the issue this is the fix. Read your manual as well all this information is listed in there. I'm off to SEMA now freakin raining..

Hi BrodyP,
Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, when I purchased my used civic the owner did not give me the manual.
I tried to follow you instructions (I turned the key half way and held it their for 10-15 sec). But that did not fix the blinking.
The light blinks nine times after I make the key turn, then it stops. It does not seem like it’s a big problem however it’s a little bit distracting.
Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your unable to check he above link due to registraion it says exactly what I said to do above. I had just wrote it incorectly. Hold the trip then turn the key, slip of words. Once again this should resolve the issue. If all else fails reset the ECU via neg battery terminal.
