i just bought a car from up north and the salt cased a hole in the exhaust, i have a 97 gst and it is idling funny, and the oil pressure light just came on. it only happens when the idle gets low. would replacing the entire exhaust system fix the idle problem therefore fixing the oil pressure problem?
please help

Nope i do not believe so. Why i say this is because turbo cars do not need exhaust ( backpressure) to run properly. How many miles are on the car? What oil weight are you running?

I think what happens is when your idle gets that low your oil pump can put out enough volume to supply the engine with oil. My car does the same thing when the idle drops for whatever reason

That was my guess, too.

Don't think exhaust would help. It would be a nice environmental thing to do, though ;).
