Need to replace side mirrors on 2000 z24 coupe

Hello,

A deer decided to take me on and removed my driver side mirror. I purchased some aftermarket from ebay, but I'm not sure where to start with the removal. It seems like the outside assembly is glued?, but I don't want to pry it off until I know for sure. The inside comes off just fine, and doesn't seem attached in any way to the outside. Is there a special adhesive I need to buy, hopefully available from Autozone or the like? Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you gotta remove the panels on the inside of the door first and then go for there.
