Replacing plugs, wires, and what else?

Ok, so getting to the back plugs requires pulling the plenum. So going to do this project, there should be a list of what you need. I'll start, please add what I miss:
Plugs
Wires
Distributor cap
New plenum gaskets
Valve cover gaskets (if you are going to do that)
Spark plug tube seals?

Just don't want to start the project without everything and then have to order something. Anything else missing here?

nothing, you might not even need a new plenum gasket mine was in good condition when it took the plenum off that I just reused it and it was fine...no vaccum leaks

While the plenums off and your feeling ambitious, you might want to look at the Egr Valve that tends to go bad, and maybe the Four O2 sensors.....
Other than that you pretty much set, just label all of your vaccum hoses and torque all the bolts with a torque wrench...

Well you are replaceing the dist. cap, are you replaceing the rotor? Also get the egr tube gaskets, Mine leaked after i did my change, because the kit didn't come with them. Also have you gotten the parts already.

Check out rockauto.com for parts. They seemed pretty cheap.

May as well replace the pcv valve while you are at it.

Also if you think your injectors may be getting bad, it would be a good time to replace them. I replaced all that you are going to replace9 minus valve cover gasktes and tube seals, when my car started to misfire, only to find out that it was a bad injector. So I had to rip it all apart again.

FLEX sockets are king for this job.

.

How do you identify if an injector is bad or not?

I replaced them all. I actually had to run my car for some reason before I started, and when I took off the plenum I could hear that the injector was stuck open. I heard a hissing noise. But I thouht it was better to replace all 6 rather than having 5 working and 1 working really good. With the money I saved buying the remanufactured ones from rockauto.com I thougt it would be work replacing them all.

pm me your e-mail and I can send you a pdf with all the torque specs.
