No shifting

We did some work on the gas tank and ever since the automatic transmission is stuck in drive, it wont shift. I can run the shift lever threw the motions but no matter what possition, the tranny wont shift. takes off in drive gear and stays there.

Any Ideas??

It would be helpful if I knew what year your Saab is...
