I just got this van this week and love it except for one weird problem with the power slide door. I have read all the stuff on here about it and i have more questions now than i started with.
First of all, the door works perfectly. Opens and closes all the way, slides nice, etc. The problem is that even after it's closed and locked and can't be opened from the outside the warning buzzer still comes on when shifting into gear. So i have to turn on the PSD disable switch to kill that darn buzz.
The local GM dealer said it was probably either the Door Lock Latch Switch or the Optical Sensor at first, but then when they saw that the door opened and closed exactly as it should they were stumped. From what i was told it wouldn't be functioning correctly if either of those items were kaput. So why would the door work and pass all their testing but the alarm buzzer still comes on when shifting into gear????
I cleaned the door and body side contacts, and slid the door open and closed both manually and with power a few times and it's all working perfectly.
I was thinking about performing the reinitialization on it but i don't want to fudge up the stereo doing so. How do i know if the antitheft is enabled? The small light on the front of the stereo next to the "antitheft" on the front doesn't ever light up when the vehicle is off and locked. Does that mean it's not enabled? Should that small light on the stereo come on or blink to alert to the antitheft being enabled?
How can i make sure it's disabled before pulling the stereo fuse? The last thing i need is a pissed off wife by killing the stereo and having to pay the dealership to get it working again because i was trying to fix the door which works just fine.
I'm about ready to find the darn warning buzzer and disconnect it and forget about it since nothing else is wrong but that darn buzzer.
