Does anyone know how to program a GM keyless remote for a 2002 Monte Carlo?

did you replace a battery, or buy a new one? If you have an owners manual, the proceedure is in there.

its easier than i thought. in your trunk there is a terminal behind the carpet on the right side at the top. its a black wire with a single pronged terminal.it should be tied to the cover for the harness for you rear lights.its not connected to anything. all you have to do is connect a jumper wire (you can get one at a parts srore for about 2 bucks) to the frame of your car to ground it out.when you do so your doors and trunk latch will cycle letting you know that your car is ready to be programed. after that hold the lock and unlock button down at the same time for about ten seconds then disconnect the wire and try the remote. it took less time for me to program the remote than to type this reply.

Dobsonheart, you proceedure works for an older one, but I don't believe it applies to the 02 model. I believe the 02 is similar to my Grand Prix, which requires a more detailed proceedure.

I'm not sure, but I think the same procedure is for the Malibu, Alero and Grand Am (different car, similar hardare) and is a sticky at the top of one of those forums. I think they also have it on the Grand prix and possibly the Intrigue section, too.

simple with the ignition on, radio off, hold down display until it says settings scroll thru until u get to program fob with seek/scan, using 1 and 2 select the option, if it doesnt move then u can just hit display it will say press button on fob its as easy as that
