like i stated before a guy at a local shop offered me a carbon fiber hood for 150 bucks. But it looked liked it had some nicks and some dings on it he told me all i had to do is get some kind of gel coat and buff it. I kind of thought he was pulling some B.S. to just get rid of it. He told me he was too lazy to clean it up but i thought for something that goes for about 500 that i might be getting more than i bargin for.

Thanks
Chad

I believe you could probably fix light scratches and nicks with an epoxy or polyester resin, but not if they are cut into the carbon fiber pattern. You can get something like this from Tap Plastics www.tapplastics.com in the fiberglass section.

it kinda depends on how it was made. you should be able to use some fiberglass resin. however, modern day companies use pre-pregnated carbon fiber (makes it stronger). i've never played with that
