I am working on a 68 Coronet that is owned by a family member. The car has been garaged for many years. I am having all kinds of problems finding parts. We just want to get it running agin. Can anyone tell me any place to find parts such as carb rebuild kits, starter or starter parts, oem filters and tune up parts, ect. Also can anyone give us an idea of the value of the car. This car has never been apart, still has original paint, top, wheels, just as it was bought new. It has a 426/2 4s, 4 speed, no power or a/c. It has no rust that I can find but does have a few very miner dings. the big problem is it's been sitting for so long. Thanks for any help.

Not sure where you can find those parts for that car if it has the 426. For the most part, the 68s that have the 318, 383 or 440, parts you are looking for are pretty available in regular parts stores. I got a new carb from JC Whitney. However, the 426 is the Hemi and if you get that car running, you could be sitting on $60K or more. Even not running it could pull $35-40K if it is the Hemi. Easiest way to tell is if the valve covers are MUCH larger than normal. Since you say you have dual carbs, I would guess you have the Hemi. I would look on EBay as that has the most variety for parts.

If this is all original, it should be the Coronet R/T. Low book from the NADA guide is $36,400. Average retail is $63,825 and high retail is $126,000. Add 10% more if it has air conditioning. If you get it running, I'd put a Maaco paint job on it for $250 and get some big bucks for it off EBay, if you don't want to totally restore it yourself (and probably lose most of that profit in parts and labor).

Thanks for all the raplies. No it is not a convertable. It has a black vinel top that is originle, yellow in color, wheels match car color with small hub caps. It looks like granny's big ole sleed untile you raise the hood. The car is as it was bought new and I am even looking at the owners manual. The only peice that I can find missing on the car is the glove box latch, and yes I need one of those also. I will try to get my son to help post pic this weekend so I can be more precise to what we have. Right know we are just wanting it to run again so we need to find parts.
thanks

A convertible would be worth more than the prices I quoted. The R/T is a model of the Coronet that is very popular and sought after.
