You can't go by the code description they have. P1404 is an EGR Valve Circuit Performance Error for a 97 - 03 Grand Prix. The EGR valve is stuck partially or full open.

What year, engine and model Grand Prix?

I really don't think you have an auxillary air pump unless your car car came from California with RPO code NC8 (California Emissions) setup. Even so the code doesn't match to any secondary emissions codes.

:werd: Bob. You can use them to scan it for free, write down what codes they find, and post them here. We will give you a more accurate evaluation as to the meaning of the code. I think it's cool that they do that for free, but they have no clue. I went to Zone today to rent a tool I don't own, and overheard a parts monkey and a customer arguing over what oil to put in his "turbocharger". The parts monkey said that we don't have turbocharger oil, but we have turbo engine approved oil. The customer said he wasn't looking for engine oil, he wanted oil for the turbocharger. I asked if turbo was spelled S-U-P-E-R. like it says on the side of his car, and he said no, it's T-U-R-B-O stupid. I'm stupid??? SHEESH. I shook my head and walked away laughing to myself. He sorta followed me out, so I pointed to his fender and spelled s-u-p-e-r-c-h-a-r-g-e-d. Then I looked at him and said "turbocharged?" with all the sarcasm I could muster. He still didn't get it.:shakehead

You can't even depend on Autozone for that. Better off with your own odb-ii scanner. There are so cheap nowadays its not funny.
