Royal Purple Oil

does royal purple really help performance and wear? and also how many qts do i need for a 96 2.2l ?

It's something alot of people live off of and some people hate it. Best advice is to try it and see. Once I get the new motor in I am going to put some royal purple in it and see. Either that or b&m stuff but that is for the tranny. Not sure about the motor oil

that thread is on the transmission fluid im asking about motor oil, and noone answered how many qts for motor oil for my car

I use around 4 qts in my 94 2.2

Buy a case of it on e-bay, thats what the owner of the shop i work at does. He pays something like 7o bucks for 12 quarts or the full race version. I use roughly 4.5 quarts of mobil 1 in my 2200.

I use 5 qts in my 2.2. Aways have.

GM says to use 4 quarts, in that engine, I wouldn't recommend using any more unless that doesn't fill it up for some reason.

I have the same engine in my 97 and ran Royal Purple a few times. My car ran 20 degrees cooler over a 900 mile drive and the oil looked new when I drained it out after 3000 miles on it. Take that for what its worth.

i bought royal purple putting it into my engine tommorow but with my car having 316000 km on it im hoping theres no deposits around my seals preventing a leak that the RP cleans up, and if there isn't then this should help my engine last longer which will be good
