1994 TC Key question

The 1994 TC I just bought only came with the ignition key and not the truck/glove box key. The dealer claims that they don't have the codes far enough back to cut me a new one.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I bought a 1994 TC and I had a similar problem. I bought the car using the single remote entry device only. Before we left the dealership, we divided up the extra keys and soon found out that the truck and ignition keys were all that worked. It was necessary to have a locksmith make a couple keys for the door locks. The column ignition locking device had been changed, and the dealer was given the keys for the column lock and not the door keys. If we had driven the car someplace and the battery in the car had failed, we would have been locked out of the car altogether. Hope this gives you some idea of how to deal with your problem.

Hello

A locksmith is probally your best bet. If you could get the key codes off the cylinders that might be helpfull to the locksmith. If you could pull all your cylinders out, they might be able to re key them for you as well. I don't know about that dealer ship saying that 94 is too old. I just had a full set keys made for a 90 chevy from the vin # at the chevy dealership. Who knows, the ford dealer might not keep that information as long. A 94 model really dosen't seem that old to me. I also needed a door/trunk key for an 85 caddy but they said that was too old. The lock smith is my best option at this point for the caddy. Good luck

Mike
