does anyone know how to set the presets for a factory 98 integra stereo? i don't have the owner's manual. a picture tutorial would be greatly appreciated. i also burnt some cds to play in the cd player but the player doesn't read the cd-r's, what's up with that? does anyone else have that problem? :finger4: factory stereos!!!!!!

About the CDs not working is because they're in MP3 format most likely and your deck doesn't read those, only audio CDs. A lot of people have that problem. Most of the new decks play burnt CDs, but a lot of not so newer ones don't.

Simply because of the lazer and design of the most car CD players some brand of CD-Rs wont work.
What brand however seems to depend largely on the player, and not the CD-R.

Im useing Mitsubishi and Verbatim CD-Rs in my Pioneer and they seem to work really well.
But you will just have to try differnt brands untill you find one that works.
(and as kicker said, make sure your not writing them in mp3 format)

As for settingt he stations, have you tried tunning the station in, and pressing the preset button and holding it down for a few seconds?
Its seems to work on EVERYother car stereo iv ever seen.
(just like the buttons going left and right generaly tune in the frequency, and up and down changes things like Volume etc.)
If you've managed to earn enough money to buy a 98 Integra then you should be smart enough to work it out.

i'm using maxells, and no it's not in mp3 format. everytime i put the burnt cd-r's in, the player just spits it back out. :spit:

the thing with the presetting is that i don't know where the preset button is. i might go to helminc.com and buy either the service manual or owners manual. it's not that i'm not smart (i work at office depot as a technology sales guy), it's just that i don't have the patience right now. it's like 85 degrees outside and i don't want to cook inside the car trying to figure it out.

i might as well get a new deck. i want one with mp3 anyways. it costs less than buying a changer, but i just don't have the cash right now, gotta pay off the car first.

To set your presets, tune/seek to the desired radio station(s).
Press and hold button 1 for the 1st radio station. Go to next station.
Press and hold button 2 for the 2st radio station. Go to next station. Repeat for the other stations (AM & FM).

Real easy...

I'm unsure as to why burned cds aren't playing because it can be a multitude of things... disc quality, poor encoding, laser lens (mis)alignment, etc.
Try a better quality cdr...

does it read real cds? if it does its just the laser dude. my integra won't read cd-r's so i finally got pissed at it one day and tore the entire thing out and stuck in a kenwood deck. lol
