hey whats up,
havent been on here in a while, been working & doing the same old thing,
workin 58 hrs a week for the past 2 months & still goin',
n e wayz,I've gotten around to still working on my car, learned how to mig weld, got my duals on,there not too bad, both work but cant seem to get the black suit on the other muffler,I'm guessing cause the bends & the other muffler goes straight out & blows out more air,but no leaks & both work:),
( I'ma find a way to make black on that muffler....;) )
besides that, got around to putting my new header & high flow cat on,
& just went & picked up my head from the machine shop,
they degreased it,milled it(without my permission-but it isn't too bad)
& pressure checked it,they milled it at 8 thousandths,(which he said is way over or to the limit,,,cant remember what he said,)
I put brand new valves, valve seals & springs in the d15b7 head,
using the b7 camshaft for right now also, with an aerospeed cam gear,
not too bad but I'm trying,
me & my brother & a few friends are going up to the tracks on april 22nd,
so I'll see how she runs, but until then.....
I need a new hood.
dont mind the dates on the pics, camera resets when taking out the batterys.

hope you dont trip on the mufflers while walking around the car. j/k
and another thing. you are sapposed to park between the white lines not on them. but seriously i want to know your 1/4 time asap.

hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa........hahahahahahahahaha hahahahhahaha. no seriously let me catch my breath.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA......LMAOHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Ok now that, that is out of me. Yeah working that many hours suck, I guess the grass cutting business gets busy this time of year. Thats a sweet as rear bumper, and I love how the mufflers look, but do they catch on speed bumps when you go over them? And I hope that machine work on your head was free, don't expect it to be much faster. But that is what I like to see, putting a freshed milled head on rough ass blacktop. Its a good thing you blocked out the licence plate, someone might want to steal that sweet ride.
But anyway, as long as you like it. Good work man!

I bet you actually LOST power by adding those 2 fart cans. One would have done the job... I just can't believe it... I bet a stock Civic/CRX Si is faster than your car. LOL

yea, give the man a break at least hes working on it, although id shorten up the length that those ankle busters..... i mean, pipes, b 4 u do drag them over something and tear them up. its a work in progress, looks pretty good, like the look of duals on a civic, but you probably did lose some bottom end power, having a little back pressure is a good thing bro

alright just got off of work,& time to respond to most of these comments,
lol,thanks for the good comments,
I am trying,
the mufflers wouldn't go back any farther ,theres a bend in the pipe going over the rear tie rod(i believe) & the muffler wouldn't curve over the bend,
which would then come to me making new piping halfway up the car
& I really just wasn't in the mood,
& the duals.....it was either have the rear bumper with 2 holes for duals,
& only 1 muffler(which I didnt think would look too good,
I could have molded one side in,(didn't wanna mess with cracking & all,
& the easiest way & best looking way would be to slap on another muffler,
but n e ways,it looks pretty good,sounds good,....
another thing,turtlecrxsi,
(I bet a stock Civic/CRX Si is faster than your car. LOL)
I've done walked all over one,LOL....
& yea hybrid,the hours do suck,4:50am to 3:30pm,
not grass cutting but a factory inspecter for honda gaskets!;)
no the mufflers dont catch on spd bumps, but I hope they do when I lower it,
rip them muthafrigers off..lol
machine work on head was 55$,degrease,mill & pressure check,
& for the last thing,
I added some back pressure which did help, before the duals,
I was running header & straight pipe all the way back,
now I got a new header, wannabe high flow cat(resonator thing) & a few more bends,& I do feel the back pressure.

Does no one else see anything wrong with sitting a freshly milled head on the pavment??? You might want to check for scratches, even a hairline scratch will burn through head gaskets like there is no tommorrow... Just a heads up.

some back pressure is good, runnin no back pressure takes some of the low end torque away on take off, but helps high end power, Id rather have the low end torque.

Onimacus is correct. Go do some research. People get the term "backpressure" mixed up with "scavenging effect". Backpressure is not good at all, you want as little as possible. Now, increasing your pipe sizing too big or having too few bends can decrease the exhaust's overall ability to "scavenge" the dormant exhaust gases. This leads to higher exhaust temps which can destroy exhaust valves and exhaust valve seals.
I am ONE of those people that DO know what they're talking about.

you should have just goten a d16z6 or y8 head...and for that price it would be good... also it would boost up power pretty nice.
the head on the blacktop.......all i have to say is omfg...what are you smoking?
the exhaust should be able to go back...i have a apexi muffler on my 4 door (same style pretty much) and it tucks in pretty nice. there is the same room on the other side and just make a few 90 degree bends and all set. i still need to get pics up of my 4g family.

Bam I know you know a lot and I respect you but I don't think you completely understand the scavenging effect. When it comes to valves, the exhaust valve overlaps the intake valve for a few degrees, which helps pull in the new intake charge, and also in turn helps get the burn gases out, its sorta like a vaccum if you will. When it comes to headers, its crucial which runners meet up at the collector to help pull old gases with them and create velocity. Now, you wouldn't go putting 3 inch exhaust on a stock motor because for the slight gain you have in the top end, its going to completely destroy your low in torque. True on high HP motors you don't want much back pressure at all, but for the application in this thread, there is no need for such a high flowing set up.

No, i know what you're saying...i was just simply stating that alot of people say you don't need big exhaust's because you need some back pressure, which is false. I think you misunderstood what I was saying. You're correct on the vaccum thing. That's what the "scavenging effect" is essentially. I was agreeing that he doesn't need such a high flowing setup. He may gain at the high RPM's because the more throttle that is applied, the higher the RPM's, the more vacuum created, so the more velocity the exhaust gases have. But, if you go too large for your setup, you will run the risk of just having the expelled exhaust gases dwell in your header and exhaust for longer periods, and thereby heating up the exhaust and surrounding areas, namely the head, the exhaust valves and valve seals.
I've seen it all too much. People with 3 inch exhausts on there d15's...lol...over time, they begin to burn oil... because they spend most of their time just cruising at lower RPM's on the highway, just heating that exhaust up w/ a reduced scavenging effect...destroying those valve seals.
Now, if that D15 was a high compression full race motor with a wild cam and rarely saw below 7k, then maybe it would be a good idea to upgrade the car to a 2.5 inch, maybe 3 inch exhaust.
