Virtual Showdown: Camaro vs. Mustang

Dunno.. seems kinda off because a Z06 does 11.7 in 1/4..

Anyway, what I wonder is how they got the names of the 09 cars.. like the Stang Boss 330 and the Maro ZL-1..

They were guess on the names. Since Ford has drop all special Mustangs but the Boss and the only Camaro that could go against one of those is the ZL-1.
And they were only guessing of the Boss 330, the engine is only 269 if I remember right.
But the ZL-1 used the Z06 LS7, the 426.3(?).

Something along those lines.

First off, how do you guess that the only Camaro that could go against a Boss is a ZL-1? Just like in the 60s the Z28 would go against the Boss except obviously now they have way different c.i.

Did you not read the video discription? It was v6 vs v6, Boss 330 vs Z28, GT500 vs ZL-1

My question as to why it would be named the ZL-1 Camaro, since the only camaro to be called a ZL1 was those made by Berger and also because ZL1 is a big block.. but whatever

Maybe I read wrong. I have the mag. and I read it just a little while ago.
GMMG also made a ZL-1, it had 400 hp I think.

They just used it because they needed something to go against the GT500. They just guessed and used it. The same with the Boss 330, the actual speculation is the Boss 290 32-valve 5.4l.

They also guess the mainstream V8 for the Camaro would be the Z28. They say it would get the LS2 like in the concept, but something along the lines of the 6.2L engine in the 07 Escalade.

I dislike the V6 numbers. It sould be getting 250-260 instead of 240. But..they won't let it. They also don't need to put a V6 in the RS as well..go back to the V8 Chevy.

Ford thoughts, yeah I know. Bring back the Cobra, because the GT500 is a limited car, if I'm right, and they would need something to compare to the Z28 and/or SS, which would be making 400 or more HP. The Mustang GT doesn't even come close.

My two cents. If I am still wrong, fuck it.

haha, the weird thing is that I think the Cobra will be coming back in 08 because thats when the Ford Lightning is coming back and they share the same engine so im wondering what then..

They need to make it come back...watch it come when the Camaro comes out.

Actually, the 2007 Shelby GT500 is not a limited-edition car. It was going to be called the 2007 Ford Shelby Cobra GT500, but the Cobra name was dropped.

cool comparison. looks like the camaro was best at every test by a small margin. that would be cool if the new z runs low 12's out of the box (im assuming thats with the 6.2/6 speed).

Cant remember, but the concept picture that I saw basicly was a new F150 with the SVT engine in it.
