Got The Car Dyno Tuned Today

Got my car dynoed at LSE today..here is the graph. I got an extra 15whp out of the tune. This is on 16.5-17 lbs of boost and pump gas. I was hoping for better but o well.

How much did that set you back? We seem to have about the same mods, so I hope I can make those numbers but I plan on running 20psi. Looks good though

Hmmmmm... with that list, I would have expected it to be more like 310-330. Wierd.

Well it is WHP and he is only running a 16g on pump gas. I'm sure if he through some race gas in and cranked it up around 25 PSI he could get over 300 pretty easy. but those look like good numbers for the set up you have. :thumbsup:

After putting it together that you are fwd those numbers do seem a little low. Was it a consirvative tune?

yeah it was a pretty consevative tune, it is a street car and I want it to be reliable. He said the dyno is about 13% less than most dynos (dyno dynamics) so on other dynos it could be around 280-290. But its cars u race not horse power as he put it.

It was 180 for an hour of tuning and with my 660's it almost ran the afc to the max.

I am not going to put anymore money into this car...I promised myself I would stop after this tune. Well see what happens...bigger turbo and dsm link WOULD be the next step, and should easily put me in the 300 range.

You have a 1g tb/intake setup on a 2g head w/1g turbo cams? Did you have the 2g head machined to match the 1g intake runners? Did they use a wideband to get your Safc-2 matched to your 660's?

he has a 6 bolt so I would guess he has a 1g head to, maybe not though

I have all the supporting mods I would need for 300-350hp for sure...like I said it was on 16.5 lbs of boost (only thing I really need is more boost and maybe a bigger turbo).

yes and no on the bigger turbo for HP, i have seen alot of cars running 400HP on the evo3 big 16g, so you do have the potential ;), Im hoping for around 350HP when my car is completed in the next month i hope.

Well according to a hp calculator(which I'm sure isnt accurate) I guessed your car weighed in at ~3500 to be safe and with a time of 13.7 you would need 315 hp at the flywheel and figuring in a 20% driveline loss thats just about 250awhp

Mine (Turbocalc) says that with a 13.7 and an estimated 230 hp, he'd have to weigh a hair under 3000. At 240 hp, he'd have to weigh 3100 and at 250 hp he'd weight about 3250. What did we learn? Calculators arent accurate ;).

i am willing to say i was 100 pounds under of the acurate weight of are awd cars with the spare tire and jack and the other shit i took out, i used dsm.org for the hp rating and it also sayed 250HP.By the way im sure 3500 pounds is way off i believe. I could be wrong tho.

well curb weight is ~3200lbs and I have no idea what you weigh so I took a safe estimate

and very few people are making 400+ on the evoiii, shapegsx is making somewhere around that, but that's extremely rare.

I say your boost should be up between 20 and 25. I'm running 17psi on evo gt turbo(no fmic, smaller exhaust,etc) With a good tune(the dyno) you be fine in the reliabilty department. 300 whp shouldnt be too hard for ya.

well after I blew my first motor im scared to turn up my boost alot untill I have money to back me up...might grap dsm link and turn the boost up at that point. according to you guys I should easily be able to hit 300-350 whp. I am pretty sure I have all the supporting mods I need to accomplish that.

(dont know if I need anymore power, the fwd is kinda shitty....Pretty sure I could smoke the tires for quite some time. hmm sounds fun, wait no money for new tires...)

Ya, it's definetly possible, torque too...I can make up to around 430tq on a small 16g;)
And that's without spray.
