96 Civic Cluster

I am buying a 96 Civic w/5spd from a friend, but the speedometer doesn't work. Will a cluster from an automatic car work? I have been searching and the clusters from auto models are quite a bit cheaper that from 5 spd cars.

your willing to put in an auto cluster instead of just spending $35 - $50 on a manual cluster?

it doesnt have to be an si or ex cluster ;)
