94 Geo Metro questions

Hi all,
I'm new to Geo Metro ownership. I just purchased a hatchback, and there are a couple things on the car that need my attention. First, I would like to upgrade the radio to a factory Delco cd/cassette player. The factor Delco number for a '94' is 30010114. Will Delco model number 30015808 work as well and simply plug into the same wire harness? My next question is about the air conditioning compressor. The one in the car I bought is shot. Is the 'Nippon Denso 10P08E' the correct compressor? I can buy a remanufactured one for $125. Is this a fair price, and is this the route I should go? Should I be careful of anything? Thanks for all your help.

the only way to see if the stereo will work is to compare the wires and connector. as for the compressor if you have the # off the one in the car try looking it up at this site http://www.gmpartscheap.com/ they seem to be pretty cheap and easy to look parts up.

I just looked up a muffler from gmpartscheap.com, $460. I wouldn't call that cheap!

The harnesses should not be any different at all. I've never seen a metro/swift with a different harness. As for the a/c compressor, same thing. Any metro/swift a/c compressor should work just fine. You can get them pretty cheap used at the junkyard, but $125 for a re-manned one is excellent. Does it come with a clutch assembly also?

Oh, forgot to mention, any local parts place has brand new OEM mufflers anywhere from $90-$120. That's about the cheapest you're gonna get without paying $40 shipping too.

that is true to however a lot of online places offer free shipping if you spend over a certain amount (like $50) and so do a lot of the local stores that sell the parts online

Thanks for the input everyone. The compressor does come with the clutch, so I'm going to grab that as it sounds like a good deal. As for the radio/cd player, I found a radio at a salvage yard today, but it's in a 1998 Chevy Metro. Again, mine is a 1994 Geo Metro. Could you radio experts tell me if the 1998 radio will work, and if it's as simple as putting it in and plugging it into my 1994 harness? If I talk to the salvage yard guys or a dealer, they don't seem to know, so they just say no it won't because the model numbers are different.
