Hello all, is it worth it to rebuild the carb on these or would it be less effort to get another from a junk yard? Thank you

New Carb? $130
Old carb? $20
Rebuild kit? $12.50

Figuring that one you get from a junkyard would only be slightly better than what you already have, I'd just get the kit, if all your metal parts are in otherwise good condition.

any idea how long it might take someone with medium skills?

I had no skills redoing my first one, and it only took some hours. It's taken since then to get the float adjusted properly. Now I know you don't have to replace the float if it runs right! So the worst part of the deal is getting the carb off without dropping nuts/bolts into the intake manifold. Rebuild kits come with directions, and the only way to screw it up totally is messing around with the float. Go 4 it.

I think I'll tackle it. I've replaced many carbs but never rebuilt one. Thanks for the info.
