Hey guys, my cav is 10 years old now and obviously it has some wear on the paint. I have a couple chips on the door that thankfully havent started rusting yet, and I was wondering what is a good way to fix that. There are also a couple of scrapes from things in the past like scraping parking lots etc so i have more that needs touching up. Does that touch up paint you buy from your automotive store really work? I dont really care if its not the exact same color as long as it protects the raw metal.

Another thing, when i scraped that pole awhile back i traded paint with it, im pretty sure it is plastic though because it was one of those "white and black light guiding" 5 foot poles. there are a pair of 3-4 inch scrubs with that and i dont think a razor would get it off i havent tried anything though. Would very fine sandpaper take it off?

One other concern is a while back my mom also scraped one of those gas station pole things, it is like a concrete horsshoe looking pole painted red. She scraped it so my rear quarter panel has a few couple inch scrapes on it now, any good way to get that off?

Another thing is there are verrrry small rust spots starting on my roof, there is about 3 of them and they are verrrry small, like barely openning the paint at all, pinhole big. Does touchup paint over it stop the rust? Or what would work good..

Any suggestions are welcome, I want to fix it up a bit and make it look half decent, its 90% all on the passenger side of the car :( I just want to protect it so rust doesent eat it all to hell. Thanks a lot!

Does anyone know the color code of my car? Would it be in my manual or no? I looked at touchup paint yesterday and couldnt find any that was vibrant and lighter blue, i was thinking it could be the indigo blue but thats darker i think. The closest ones i found was a ford blue and a chrysler blue..

Plus i got the black plastic scrubs off my car! :) It was raining yesterday and i just tried to scratch it and it was comin off slowly but surely, now just covering up the scratches and tryin to get that red ding off.

if its stock and you havent changed the color the color code should be inside your driver door if im not mistaken. instead of buying touch up paint might want to consider a possible cover coat, i know a few places that will run a new coat + clear for under $500 as long as you dont need bodywork too. chips arent the only thing that affect the appearance of your cars paintjob, that sun is a bitch.

Paint code is in the trunk under the spare tire cover.
