1998 passport v6 3.2 171,000 mi
replaced t-belt, tensioner, idler and water pump at 120,000.
white smoke started at 171,000 compression tested 170 psi except #5 230psi had coolant in cylinder, non in the plug tube until i did the compression test, coolant was being sprayed onto the engine compartment.
Pulled heads had them pressured tested and they were ok, valves ground and seated, heads shaved - 1 out by 4 thousands the other a little less but at an angle so the machine shop said.
Got it together, used all new gaskets, new head bolts (used torque spec.) new timing belt. Started and runs great!
Why :banghead: do I still have white smoke????????

i have had heads pressure tested my a reputable machine shop and they say that the heads are fine but they never are they cant heat the heads enough to test them and thats when the cracks will appear if it overheated there is a chance it may only be the gasket but I would not rule out head just because it was pressure tested.

the engine never overheated. removed the plugs today and found water-coolant in same cylinder as before.
What about the engine block, could it be bad, or not smooth or level or maybe cracked?
I drove about 10 miles today I did not see white smoke for the first minute after startup, then it started smoking out the exhaust.

definatley sounds like a crack. and white smoke is oil not water unless it is steam.
