New Car, GSX need some help info

I finally got a 1997 GSX that looks exactly like clipsekid99's. It has some mods on it and I needed some of your help. Its running on a new forged crankshaft and powered by a Big 16G :). Boost is at 7psi. ( showed buy electronic boost controller ) It has GReddy PRofec e-01 management system and a full catback Apex-i N1 exhaust. The clutch is a Act 2600 and it has racing seat. It has some stall problems and the other day it finally threw a code. It said it was the idle control speed sensor. So I was trying to figure out where the idle sensor would be. Also it has a Greddy MBC. Now how the heck do I use that. With a screw driver adjust it or ..... I am confused as hell. I wasnted to boost it atleast 12-14 pounds. Since it has a management system I wasnted to have two settings in there. One for daily driving and one for some speed. The management system is the same as this one.

I promise I will post pics until the end of this week. I am driving it tomorrow to school again :). Oh guys also, I raced my friends SRT-4 at 7 psi and he is at 15psi. I beat him but he is bone stock. He has absolutly no upgrades.

Are you running the stock fuel pump on it or and upgraded one? Before you turn the boost up too much you might want to upgrade the pump.

What size injectors? Why don't you change that cat back into a turbo back =)

I am curious is it just a forged crank, or is forged rods and pistons as well? Because it makes absolutely no sense to just change the crank unless the other one was Fubar.

Why does it have a MBC if it has a electonic boost controller?

fuel pump is stock. Injectors are stock. Everything is stock except the things I mentioned above in my post. OK i saw that the MBC is a Greddy and is connected to my Greddy Profec -01 so I am guessing its part of the the whole thing. I want to boost higher then 7psi cause I need to. Oh and the crank is forged only and put in by the dealer I dont know about internals but it has lifter tick big time :). So how much should I boost safely with the mods I have so far. Big 16G , Profec e -01 , Apexi N1 full exhaust , ACT 2600. What should I be boosing ? Dont want any problems with the engine for now so dont give me a huge number :)

I would keep it a 7 or 8 untill you get some fuel upgrades. atleast get a walbro 190 and some new injectors. I would go with 660's just to be on the safe side. thats my :2cents:

Its giving me check engine sign because of that stupid sensor. I cant find it anywhere . Its the idle control speed sensor. Any one have any idea where it mign be ?

The profec e-01 is a boost controller, unless you also have a e-manage that's all it does. Go to greddy.co and click tech on the left side you can see the manual for it in pdf form. It's a nice boost controller I have it in my talon.

So its the ISC. Can I be able to use one from a 6 bolt engine ? There are a lot of 6 bolts around here. I need to get a ISC just from a turbo engine or would it work from a 6 bolt non turbo ?

In one you said you have a full catback exhaust and the other says you have a full exhaust. Does that mean you have a downpipe or just a catback?
And you should definatly upgrade the fuel pump and injectors before you turn the boost up any more.

he could easily run 15psi with no problems.

The downpipe is the same color as the rest of the exhaust system and I think its a whole exhaust system. The Exhaust has a chrome tip but the peipes themselves are brownish and so is the downpipe. So I am almost positive its a full exhaust. I take pics soon so I will show u guys.
Oh by the way, how do I clean the engine bay of a turbo car ? Cover the turbo , alternator and distrubutor cap ?

And again I need more help, I just noticed that the GSX came from the factory with a stock alarm system. Any one have any idea where I can get the remote control from ? Its reprogrammable so if any one have any left over I would buy it.

I got one off Ebay for pretty cheap. Then comes the programming....most likely you will have to take it to a dealer for that.

In regards to your lifter tick, I went to http://www.partsdinosaur.com by recommendation from a lot of good people here. I got the 3rd gen lifters for $8.00 a piece. That's $128.00 which is a heck of a lot better than from a Mitsu dealership at close to $50 bucks a piece.
