Greddy turbo question....

Well i got a question that just nags in my head, and remember i just ask these questions out of genuine curiousity. I know that GReddy has just released a Prelude Turbo kit and an Air-Air intercooler kit. They use TD05/TD06H-18G Mitsubishi turbocharger and i was wondering how high you can turn up the boost on it before you have you begin worrying something might break under your hood? And is it also possible to put a bigger turbo on the existing kit, or is it designed turbo specific? Also what is the best valvetrain set up to run with the turbo? I was thinking maybe Crower. Any help would be awesome and greatly appreciated, THANKS!!!

From what I hear, the motor in your ride is pretty solid. I'm running 9psi daily on a 1.6 SOHC and it's fine. Some people don't get that lucky and buy a used car, boost it and blow it. I've had this car since it was on the lot, so I know about the motor. As far as upgrading later, you might want to call Greddy about that. If you want to do a custom job, you CAN get one of the T-? units and upgrade it later. If you want to know specifics, call Greddy. Pretty much most of the top name brands of bottom end gear will set you back a pretty penny (Crower, Probe, and so on...), but I think you'll end up saving money in the end.

Thanks alot man, i am glad you can help me. I dont even have this car yet. I am sorry for making it seem that i do. I am infatuated with the Prelude and i want to boost one and hook it up soo bad. I want to boost it and add an intercooler. I than want to upgrade the valvetrain and than balance and blue print the bottom end with JDM typeS rods and pistons along with ARP studs. I would also add a JDM typeS intake manifold. Add bigger injectors and a new ignition system along with an AEM EMS unit. All that would probably bring it from about 160 wheel hp to about 270hp, and maybe even more than that. But that is what i would dream about doing. It would take about 5 years to accomplish and a great machinist to work my engine.
