This is Renaissance's transkit for Tamiya's 205 kit. Once finished, this is one of the most intimidating rally cars ever. Sorry for some poor photo quality.

Lets start with the decals. Incredible color and quality. They may look a little washed out in the photo, but in person they seem perfect.

Next is unbelievable photo-etch. Again, much better seen in person.

The resin is well cast. Some clean-up is necessary. I don't see a lot of filling needed. The wheels are top-notch.

Finally, three reference/instruction pages are included.

Overall, this T/K is 1st class. This is the only t/k of this subject, and that's hard to complain about. The decals and photo-etch are almost worth the price alone. One complaint I have (valid or not) is i would have liked to see tires included in this kit. The Tamiya kit tires are Evo I dirt tires, and I would bet the Pikes version used different rubber. Other than that, a must have. This T/K is cheaper than the Evo II T/K, and IMO, a better and more interesting subject. Now if we could only get that 405PP kit released.

You can get 405 Pikes peak trans Kit in Germany. I obtain one unit in next web address:

http://www.nimpex.de/

Search Peugeot 405 and you will get an image about what is included in trans kit. It looks to be a special kit by REJI.

Enjoy it. Lot of work.

Thanks gents for your help.

I know about the Reji/nimpex kit. I am just for some reason (less and less) patiently waiting for the Renaissance version to be finally released. I'd like to be able to at least compare them :)

The 205 kit looks good so I have hopes for the 405 kit.

I understand. But, I bought both 205 EVO II trans kit from Renaissance (Tour de Corse and Pikes Peak version) and also as I said 405 Pikes Peak fron REJI.

Better from Renaissance are photo-etch, but resin parts are much better from REJI. All work about suspension height for 405 kit comes modified with resin suspension parts.

In my opinion, if Renaissance follow same way that with 205 kits, best solution will be combine both kits. More when 205 Pikes Peak kit comes with really very poor instructions compared with Tour de Corse kit.

So, enjoy your projects.
