building 85 trail rigg

getting ready to start building a trail rigg for the family. i,m starting with a 85 ext. cab 4x4 w/22r , 5spd,setting stock. the motors ready to go together except for a bad head. any have any info. on head or ideals for my project ,recommended upgradces ,chime in . trying to stay in a modest budget and be able to do some average trail riding nothing to radical.thanks

That's cool. If you're going to get the head built, I don't think you should worry about bigger valves or anything because they just can't get very much bigger. It cost me $150 dollars to get my 22re head built not long ago. If you want more, I'd sugest a cam, but I spent all my money on stuff I had to have and not as much on stuff I wanted so I didn't get to try a cam to reccomend. I did like doing business with engbldr.com and I bet they have a cam just for you. For that matter, they probably have a head for you. Just some ideas. Congrats on your toy!
