How do I create bluish tint?

Looks like I'm not going to build my CLK DTM with the decals and stuff afterall. I think I'm gonna go ahead with the "street version" look.... just the Mobil decals here and there and that's it, it'll be metallic silver everywhere. But I've been looking at pictures of MB showcars and it seems that their metallic silver has a slight bluish tint to it... it's beautiful. I want to recreate that with Alclad metallic lacquers. Anyone know how that could be done?
p.s. if anyone wants spare D2 decals, just ask :)

hmmm ... that sounds like it would work... i might try that once i get hold of some alclad.
BUT the thing is, I read on their website and it says that Alclad doesn't/shouldn't need a top coat or else it loses it metallic shine. Can someone who has had alclad experience (plane modeler? anyone?)comment on the validity of this??
If it works, then it'll be awesome... :)

So you decided to go Alclad after all. :D
Well, as far as I know Alclad can't be mixed with anything but other alclad (and Alclad Highly Polished Aluminum/Chrome can't be mixed at all) so you will have to try what FOTW said. Do it all on a test piece of plastic so you will see how it turns out before you do it on the model itself.

Testors makes trasparent blue paint. Maybe you could use that.

I ran accross a couple of my old scale modeler magazines (1995) the other day and when I flipped through one one of them I saw a product that reminded me of this post. It is a water soluble liquid that is (was) available in black, blue, red, green, yellow and brown. It was called "the detailer" and could be used to tint windows or paint over chrome to simulate colored anodizing. It sinks into recesses and leaves raised areas in their natural color. If you don't like the effect, wash it away with water and try again. I have no idea if they are still around. No website was mentioned but the address was:
