Car Broke Down, Need Help!

I was driving around today in my 95 subaru legacy and all of a sudden it made weird sounds when i hit the gas and just stopped going, slowly stopped. So I pulled over to the side of the road and tried to put it in reverse and back up, it just went back a few inches and stopped, the wheels barely even moved, it did the same thing in all drive gears(its an auto), then i put it in neutral and tried to push it backwards, once again, same thing, tried to push it backwards, same thing. So basically my car wouldnt move, it was almost felt like the E-Brake was on, it felt exactly like the when i tried to move it. So I gave my car the :finger: and me and the hot lady(embarassment at its best, "nice car! bang, squeeel") i was with(she wanted to come) went and got a # for a towing place and had it towed to the dealership, i have to go check it out tommorow. Any ideas as to what may have happened? Thanks a lot.

funny noise? like what kind of noise. A knock, a scratch, a whirring? Also, did the engine die? or did the car just come to a stop? if the car just came to a stop i would say it was a tranny problem but if the engine died we would need very detailed info from you as to exactly what happened. I guess that switch to a 5spd may be round the corner :)
