92 voyager shifting

i have a 92 voyager 3.0l,3 speed trans. problem is the transmission will not downshift to first every time i stop the vehical.i never know when it may happen sometimes it may do it all the time sometimes intermittantly. any suggestions will be appreciated.

I know when my 3 speed transmission did that, it didnt last much longer, the good thing about the 3 speed is that it is not really big bucks to have it rebuilt.
