Hey guys, I'm new to this site, I have been looking recently into getting a ford ranger, my biggest concern has been gas milage, could some one tell me what they are getting with the 5 speed 4 cyl, and what kinda milage people are getting with the 6 cyl 5 speed, thanks alot

I generally run about 14 to 16 mpg with my 91 4.0L, and my old 89 2.9L got about 19 hwy before she croaked.

My '99 4.0L runs between 16 and 20 depending on how I drive.

My 1992 Ford Ranger 4 cylinder with 5 speed got about 28 on the hwy, don't remember what it got in town, my 1997 4.0 V6 with 5 speed got about 21 on the hwy and 16-17 in the city.

My 98 3.0l automatic is getting 24mpg on the highway. It has 120k on it and has never been tuned up. It should be much higher once the new plugs etc are in.

my dads '99 2.5l 5speed gets around 28 highway and 23 city.
my '01 3.0l auto gets around 16 city
