Hi...new here, I joined to find some help about my Blazer.I've been having trouble with it for about a week or so now. Doesn't seem like it has any power on steep hills and it jumps a lot so I had a friend of mine hook his machine up to it and he got the P0101 code - MAF or VAF A Circuit Range/Perf. I have no idea what this is or what it means....can someone plz help me and tell me what I need to do to fix the problem? Thanx!

It is a dtc for your mass air flow sensor. It could be the sensor itself, the wiring for it or the pcm, would need to diagnose it. Although in unusual cases I have seen plugged cats. cause a P0101 to set. The MAF is inline of you intake duct between the air filter and the throttle body.

A lot of times, simply cleaning it will restore it to proper working order. Disconnect it from the duct, you'll see the wires in the air way, spray them with some electronics cleaner. You can also use brake cleaner, but don't use carb cleaner, wd40 or any similiar products because they will leave a residue.

Ok, thanx...I'll try the cleaning 1st off and see if it helps...hopefully to fix it it's nothing that's gonna cost me an arm and a leg lol

As gmtech79 said, it's located in the air duct between the air filter and throttle body. Here's a picture: Good Luck.

Ok, so that's a pic of what the MAF looks like?

Yes, you can't see them in the pic, but behind that screen are the wires that I was talking about cleaning. You'll see them after you get it out and look inside.

You're welcome.

The wires are delicate so don't try rubbing them with anything, just spraying them will do.

Most of the time the cleaning will fix the problem, but if you need further help, just come back and ask.
