shift knob problems

i just got a new shift knob for my auto. 1994 ford thunderbird v6 Lx. i disconnected the od wire, but cannot get the knob itself off. please help.:banghead:

There is a little clip thing that goes in the front side of the shifter. You have to pull that out to get the knob itself off. Im not esactly sure how to do but I do remember that part from flipping through my manuals that I have.
