dropped q-tip down injector port

my father in law has a 99 JXI,we were replacing a fuel injector and when i wasnt there he was cleaning the injector port with a q tip and dropped it.we couldnt see it and he insisted on putting it back together.after it was all together it wouldnt start.im getting fuel to all plugs and spark to all but #2 cylinder.found a break in the plug wire.1 bad wire wouldnt cause it to not start would it?or is it the q tip that would be causing it to not start.i took the plugs out and verified that it was shooting fuel in the chambers while it was turning over.cranks fast but no start.no CEL either.
