Need Help! Upper Intake Manifold

I am removing the upper and lower intake manifolds to repair a gasket problem. I have removed all the bolts wireing etc from the upper intake and the intake will slid and lift up about 1/8 of an inch but it will not come off. I am reluctant to force it. Feels like someting under the middle of the manifold is holding keeping it from lifting off.

Any help?

For 2nd gen Blazer: You said Upper so the CPI or fuel injection spider assembly has a large o-ring on it. The assembly is mounted on the lower intake and is a loose thing so thats probably what is allowing movement of the plasic upper cover - assuming you have all wires, hoses, fuel rail, etc disconnected. Pull the upper cover up off that assembly. Have to disconnect the CPI large electic plug in first on top of course.

For the lower you have to get the power steering bracket loose and moved up to get the intake front drivers side bolt out and easily lift the lower off too.

Thank you for the reply. Your were correct. I have been able to remove and reassemble the upper and loser manifolds. Not a bad job if you have the tools. The last item in the task is the reinstallation of the Power Steering Pulley. The tool I purchased has the wrong size threads for the pump shaft.

Thanks again,
