I have a '96 3800 v6 firebird. I want more juice. I did the plug and wire thing, did the muffler thing, and I'm about to do the cold air induction thing. But what I'm really after is the turbo-charge or super-charge. Grand prix GTP's, Bonneville's and Buick 3800's all have supercharger option's. One of the baddest 3.8 v6's ever had a phat-ass turbo (buick Gran National for you kid's out there) so has anyone heard of taking a 3800 v6 stand-alone and adding some stank to it after the fact? Well if anyone has, let me know. I want to kick the hell outta some 5.7 liters

You can add a turbocharger to any engine you want. Depending on the engine and it's internals will determine how much it will cost and what you will have to replace. It also depends on how much boost you want to run, and if you want to be able to change the boost levels.

The one thing that I have learned lately is that any thing is possiable if your creative enough, do your homework and know a good machinest/welder. I don't know enough about interchangeable parts between GM cars but there has to be web sites or a local performance shop that can help ya out. Sometimes the service people at dealerships can be helpfull to, let 'em know what your doing and they should be able to help.

oh no kidding, my friend wants to convert the TBI on his Shelby Dakota to carbuerator and I've gone to tons of dodge dealerships w/him and all we hear is 50yr old men stating the obvious and treating us like we have no idea what were doing. BUT you will encounter very knowledgeable people but its only if you ask.
