I own a 92 ford ranger, and every day when you first start it for the first time in the day or if you leave it sitting for a long while and start it up it will start idle very poorly and then die!! So you have to start it back up and keep giving it gas for it to stay running. I recently changed the rotor cap and the spark plugs and it still runs poorly!! Is there anybody who can help me or have any suggestions?!?
Thanks
Alex

What did the spark plugs look like? Are you running lean or rich? How's the cold start valve?

many things to check. coolant temp sensor controls fast idle.i'd start there first $10 part. throttle position sensor,MAP/ BARO sensor, air temp sensor? lots of things to try.

you didn't say if you checked the fuel pump fuse? thought it was running good after cold start valve repair? check for voltage at fuel pump wires.

It looks like a different poster from the original. As mudder said, check to see if you got any voltage to the relay contacts and if the relay is being pulled in.
